i like broken womenA Poem by knightcalldidn't hear from you thought maybe we had hung it up everybody tries to read me through my poetry sometimes it's only make believe i see you hiding out there in the corn your interest piques when there's a new bloom out there in the electronic pasture i like damaged women brokenness is downright sexy this man knows no exchanges and returns you can't recycle women you only can maintain them the best you can the stalks are moving i tell myself it's the wind yesterday i saw two scarecrows fighting they stuffed themselves full of possession harvest time sends them running they worry about the knee highs grown and considerably more upright than them i like broken women let me sweep your pieces off their feet and i sit in the loft on top of this old gray barn watching a red tailed hawk circle choosing exactly what he wants with a swoop and a snatch the sky and the silt looks so pink at sunset i'm happy for the quiet though i must admit i listen for the snaps out in the field psst there's something newly broken
