pretense

pretense

A Poem by knightcall

finished my paperwork
before i set to dreaming
through the night
pretending's okay with me
i can imagine every woman caught by the light
i can imagine that it's really you
the hornets emit a constant sound
night birds pipe in their harmony
and i sit on the porch
trying to stay in tune with
everything this neighborhood can bring
but i don't have to pretend about the nature of things
the nature of things between you and me
the light will surely catch you
just as the rain will catch up to me
c'mon baby give me a little sunrise
let me fall into you in a shaded hammock on a tall tree
eventually we will know the night through a cool breeze
and we'll no longer have to pretend

Tender and loveable!

Nice! This is really cool, I love this. And this is cool, especially how the words sometimes rhymed together perfectly. Really nice flow all the way through and all that.
