A Poem by knightcall

i've been running like a white mule
steady but not a bit fast
the rain falls faster than i travel
the ache has invaded my bones and
i'm tired of deferring my life to
something i can't see but only feel
the bureaucracy never does believe
have your physician sign here and
we'll check you out just to be sure
why would i lie about being sick
you're not paying me enough
you're not paying me enough
somehow i feel
i lost my momentum
i don't want to turn into that
bad chap giving himself plenty of breaks before
sending himself home hours early
sneaking out with
ice cream stains in his shirt
i call upon the sun of a new day
warm my blood and chase away what has
entered me, an unwelcome visitor bearing thorns
i drop to my knees and call upon my strength
if strength is beauty and beauty is strength
i call upon what's inside you, what shines out a new sun

First of all I love the title to this. ^^* It sparked my interest. The body of your poem however was true magic. It took me a while to finish but only because it deserved appreciation line by line.
