crosses and dots

crosses and dots

A Poem by knightcall

the girl can't spell to save her life

i never was much for order

always been stumbling into the abstract

the people i count on to help me

save the world

they go home early

stand befuddled

and i used to have this friend

but she was always hinting at someone else

but would never pull the trigger

so i told her to point her paint gun at somebody else

save the drama for the stage

give me a exit from the pushed down rage

so that is why

i'm happy to have someone normal like you

someone's brain to explore

when the day is through

i'm not much for buttons, zippers, or collars

when the day makes me tired

i'd rather immerse myself in the art of you

and maybe i'm too enamored with

undotted i's and uncrossed t's

but i'm here doing what i'm supposed to be doing

when the rest have gone home with

some feeble excuse of beating traffic

when they live less than a mile away

i cannot tolerate

incompetence

when it comes to human lives

so wrap me in your arms like a lattice

and i'll tell you the way things are supposed to be

no need for spellcheck
