fluidity

every drop of the rain is you

and i want to soak the whole way through

mist rises off the heat of the road

telling me it will rain again

the storm has ignited a fire

started by the rain

and i tilt my head back

just to soak you in more

if i am an island

you are an ocean

your waves engulf me

and take me in

so my outstretched arms

wait for you to carry me out to sea

the rain returns to the ocean

and you return to me
