a new song

a new song

A Poem by knightcall

it's been too long
i can't focus my eyes
i've forgotten what i've remembered
burned my books
and played all my coins

waiting's not my strongest suit
i've smashed my guitar
cut my mouth
picking up the pieces
my ladies and gentlemen
i've  played my last tune tonight

there have been a few women
a few women before you
sometimes i wish
i wasn't so f****n hard to figure out
then again
i can't figure out myself

felt like i've been up on the stage
almost my whole life
can't you turn that spotlight away
i've been burned by discovery
upon which i no longer feed

i can almost remember
sitting at Miss Hagstrom's piano
singing some song she had picked out
all of us in the class taking turns to
break the air with a new song

Your thoughts are well expressed in this fine example of longing to fulfill a wish. Practice makes perfect!

I may spend most of my time waiting, put it's not something I'm good at either. Well done. Keep on playing and singing.

Well written, its like your thoughts are saying enough enough...but it just keeps heading your way..you just want a slow down...nicely penned.
