drive-by of my morning

drive-by of my morning

A Poem by knightcall

hey there little darlin
you live around the corner from me
your fresh face brightens my mornings
i roll past and i always smile
you bring back my youth to me

if i could go back in time
you'd see me in a concert T
and blue jeans
i just wanted you to know
i once belonged to a different world
but i would have liked to have known you

i really shouldn't rush so much
the tailored suit does that to me
i'd rather soak in your smile
just a little bit longer

and i remember the insecurity
the evenings surviving insults
i hope the world has changed for you
and i hope for now
you don't rush any part of you
you lose the t-shirts of summer much too fast
hang on to that sun little darlin
hang on to that sun

aah so nostalgic, the blue jean feel, really well done in expressing this elusive feeling. Crisp and romantic.
