wrapper

wrapper

A Poem by knightcall

i've tried to wrap myself around this love

but every time i get close

the lights go out

i've tried to wrap myself around this love

it twirls inside me

it can't fight me

i've tried to wrap myself around this love

you've always known

i find you beautiful

it's like you're sitting for a portrait all the time

i've tried to wrap myself around this love

maybe i can be Raphael

a faint imitation of Botticelli

i've tried to wrap myself around this love

i'm lost in the art of it

that's the biggest part of it

i've tried to wrap myself around this love

this love

this love

this love

this wrapped around me kind of love

I think if you sat down and stared long enough, you'd be able to paint a masterpiece. Tracing every curve, every line, every joining, every shaded and sunlit part. Wrapping yourself around love is quite a hard thing to do, because it's inside, but if you draw it out, then you can wield it, mold it, wear it, shape it, protect it, nurture it, and love it.

Your poem mesmerized me as I read it...the flow of it taking me into a state of dream-like imagery. The imagery taking me into times of happiness and love!

How very lovely. I now how images of you as a modern day Raphael or Botticelli perhaps painting your Venus rising? I like this. It made me smile. Please keep on penning.
