A Poem by knightcall

sit down son

let me tell you

what i've learned about love

i've learned to make the same mistakes

over and under again

when i was about your age

i made no secret to

the teenage girls that i admired

that i was interested in them

following them around like

a hawk after a mouse

there are no rules to love, son

she can cheat on you

you can cheat on her

you can both cheat together

love keeps looking for a new opportunity

oh no

i'm not bitter

i've had hearts in my hands

i've smelled summer in the nape of a girl's neck

just be careful son

because sometimes love's an illusion

and sometimes

you have to wait for

the right heart

Seems like in all the adult's rush to stuff their children's heads with knowledge, they forget one very important fact: love. And, for that matter, teaching their children about it. Thanks for reminding me.
