serpentine

serpentine

A Poem by knightcall

hey mister

can you tell me

what is

happening to me

cause i   haven't a clue

there's a serpent

inside my arms

and my legs have left me

for another body

i know

you're a stranger

but i thought maybe

you might notice

something i'm missing

i cross my arms

and i feel it coil

it has no reason to

be inside me

but for the moment

it has paid the rent

scratch my head

are you sure sir

i'll empty out

my wallet if

you can give me

the answer

i'm not possessed

never have i known

an addiction

so why

hey buddy

really i have cash

credit cards

why do you

join the crowd and

walk away

Whoa...now, that must suck. Having a...well, I'm gonna take a blind guess at a friend...a friend walk away from you when you're desperately and genuinely seeking their advice and their support. I've had a few important people walk out on me like that...but so long ago, that I think I've either buried the pain or forgotten. I hope the pain doesn't stick around for you too long.

The poetic mind such a mystery as it shows in this writing. One can take its meaning and run run run. But the poet alone knows only its character and the life brought to it. Poems do however allow the rest of the world to interpret and make the meaning their own. what a wonderful gift, the gift that allows each of us to feel, hear, listen, wonder and pretend. Lovely Poem!~!

This one is quite sad to me. Gives me feelings of frustration at being able to do nothing to relieve the situation. Keep on penning.
