A Poem by knightcall

this inbox is unattended

i don't pay attention anymore

I don't care to argue about fashion

dress codes and overzealous secretaries

(sorry, administrative assistant)

i took one glance into your ego AA

when i saw your birthday party invitation

it featured seven pictures of you

Ted Baxter must be rolling over in his TV land grave

the party was to last two days

(did that require two days?)

and the four lowly interns that

i work with

they weren't invited

despite the shallow praise

you greet them with

all the newspaper clippings

the picture on the cafeteria hallway

doesn't hide the darkness behind your eyes
