Commitment ImpairedA Poem by kmpatrickI can see this becoming lyrics to a song. Think of it, put it to a classic country tune with the whine of the steel guitar. You think you're the first one, To tell me you love me, That you're going to be here, year after year, I'm sorry to tell you That I have been jaded By too many loves whispering lies in my ear Too many times, I've sold on these lines only to get hurt and screwed over again I want to believe you, and let myself keep you But the problem is now, how do I begin? You probably don't want to get to close to me I'll push you away in the end My heart is as vacant as a ghost town and I'm alone, without even a friend. So call me a skeptic, neurotic, dramatic That's OK, baby maybe I am. Please understand me, I'm not trying to hurt you thought you should know, I'm commitment impaired © 2015 kmpatrick |
