Our Body is a BattlefieldA Poem by kaylaWe wake up wondering what's wrong with our hair? And how did our thighs get so fat down there?
We look in the mirror, and ask, What is wrong? And how did our nose get so goddamn long?
We go to the mall convinced we're too fat to ever in our life wear something like that.
And when you start to feel good about yourself, you see some skinny model on the magazine shelf proclaiming your weight is at an all time high and here is a workout to shrink those thighs!
But women, don't forget that our body's a battlefield. Everyday they shoot darts that're hard to heal.
Don't fall into the trap, you're beautiful just as you are. Don't let them tear you down and heavy your heart.
No matter your skin color, your hair texture or you're weight, best believe that you look great. Don't fall into the trap that you have to be perfect, you're beautiful as you are and best believe you're worth it. (:
