Stand Up for What's Right

Stand Up for What's Right

A Poem by kayla

If you don't have anything nice to say,

don't say anything at all.

Don't kick someone when they're down,

help them up when they fall.

We won't always know our actions' impact,

so we shouldn't take the chance.

There's no reason to tear someone apart

to maintain our high-up stance.

Nobody is better than anybody else

and nobody is any worse.

If you take any position such as that,

know someone will end up in a hearse.

Everyone is different in their own way,

that's no excuse to hurt.

Don't spread the negativity and pain,

you'll only make it worse.

No matter what, stand up for what's right

and don't add to the curse.

When you see somebody different

don't join the crowd and mock.

Stand up for what is right,

don't just turn away and walk.

Your poem greatly encourages everyone to become a better person. It simply tells that everything you say and do has some effect, positive or negative, on the people around you. It’s a pretty powerful tool.

Nice work

Great wisdom in the poem. I agree with your words. Negative words and actions can damage a life forever. Better to hold silence or assist in private. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
