Death in a Double BedA Poem by taboo.poetshort poem about an unhappy marriage
Death in a double bed.
Sunken in, she is not herself. Sneaking prescriptions from the cabinet. She descends into madness. A housewife with another lover. She is unhappy and needs another. Her descent into his bed will be what leaves her dead. Death in a double bed. Arguments of screaming, of shouting. I thought you were happy. Tears fall. Not at all! Glasses shatter. Keeping up appearances to the family, to the children, to the world, every night dying in a double bed. Meant for two but both are gone.
