A Poem by taboo.poet
"

a teenage girl meets a man off the internet; dark

"
She took her guard down for just one day
to meet the man from around the way.
He had charm, he had wisdom, but most of all he cared.
He was beyond the immaturity of teenage years.

So as she walked to the store where they would meet
her heart went thump-thump and skipped a beat.
She was so excited, possibly in love,
but for now they'd just party and have some fun.

A car rolled up from another street,
window rolled down as suspicious as could be.
But young and naive, she smiled and waved.
She got in the car because she had faith she'd be ok.

They drove and made small talk, he smirked and flirted.
She blushed and giggled, thinking the trip was worth it.
His hand grazed her thigh as her turned into a motel.
She soon wondered if this would actually end well.

She asked him about the motel,
thought they were going to the Doubletree.
He said he was low on and cash
and that this was the way it'd have to be.

When he got out of the car, she was nervous but still sure
that she was invincible against a man's urge.

Once in the motel, things turned for the worst,
After sipping a beer, he began fondling her skirt.
She put her hand to stop, but he pushed it away.
He said, "you're going to do what I tell you, ok?"

She started to cry, she was only 15.
She couldn't believe that this could be happening.
She tried to fight again, but he knocked her out cold.
Then the nights events began to painfully unfold.

He called up a few friends and they had their way,
Michael and Jonathon and Chris and Jose.
She came to in the middle and she started to fight,
she screamed and she screamed for her 15yo life.

They promised they wouldn't kill her, just wanted some fun.
Told her just to "lay down and take it hun."
Tears streamed down her face, "I can't believe
that something like this could happen to me."

She woke up with a hangover, all alone.
She was physically alive, but bruised to the bone.
She limped to the mirror and saw a collage of bruises,
the pain so deep she didn't know if she could get through it.

She didn't want to call her 'rents so she called a friend.
She waited naked in the motel for the nightmare to end.

She was 15yo and took her guard down for one day
to meet a stranger online who said things would be okay.
She never believed that these things could happen to her.
She was young and naive, now a lot wiser.

A very sad story. Young woman must be careful in our world. I have three daughters and six sisters. These types of story do happen in real life. One of my sister's daughter was rape at a young age. This is a good story of wisdom. Trust few people in a life. Never know real plans of another. Thank you for sharing the powerful story.

I've read several of your poems about the same situation and I just wanted to say that I admire you so much for being able to come out and share such a sad story with the word. I admire your strength and I admire how great of a writer you are.

Very intense poem. I couldn't imagine the trauma such an event would cause such a young, fragile mind. A lesson could be taken from the story, if only our youth took the time to read it. Thank you for sharing!
