Repetition

Repetition

A Poem by Kayla
"

Sometimes words just refuse to fade away.

"

The words are like acid in my mind.

Swirling, swirling, burning, burning

They scorch my soul and

Leave me feeling empty.

Never enough.

The pen in my hand is my only release.

Scratching, scratching, whispering, whispering

It allows it all to flow away

Leaving me empty.

Never enough.

Still the words remain in my thoughts.

Pounding, pounding, burning, burning

They repeat again and again until

I'm left empty.

Never enough.

One question manages to filter in.

Flowing, flowing, whispering, whispering

Will I ever be enough,

Or am I meant to be empty?

Never enough...?
