her soft gentle disposition

pours into my rough hued soul

 

such delicate textures

simply cascade elegantly

along the contours of your spine

 

leave the desperate measures

to those more jaded & cruel

I opt to embrace eternal beauty

 

you inspire the limitless possibilites

of a life more enchanted

the primitive thrusts of sublime beauty

 

once upon a faded memory

the twilight of my eternal youth

falls upward like spring rain

 

leaving me breathless

your sensuality blends

painted against my desperate longings

 

happily ever after is a simple kiss

a mere thousand heartbeats away

and the possibilites of tomorrow

float by on a eastern breeze

May I never be the sort of reviewer who castigates another's literacy, in defence of the apparent fact that she lacks any!

Your poem is an amazing paean to the power love can wield to infuse even the most callused of hearts. I was thinking of a James Taylor song, an ode from the point of view of an obstreperous old grouch to what we are led to believe is his lady-love, but which turns out to be his Golden retriever! ("I Was A Mean Old Man") Deeply sensual, highly hopeful, overwehelmingly grateful--don't you change a word (other than to omit one of the "r's" in "brreezes, that is!)
