"The Sweet Charity Of Remembrance"

"The Sweet Charity Of Remembrance"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"The Sweet Charity Of Remembrance"

Each eternal glance back

Beckons the sweet eloquence

The perpetual dalliance of yesterday

The divine providence of sheer bliss

A more simple time considered

Where  beauty and tranquility

Were as sweet as honey suckle

As my heart lept beyond summer venues

We danced together beneath pale moonlight

Unquestionable love sprang forth...

Immeasurable,( Un)quenchable, Invincible

As our hearts met in soul defying providence

I ached only for the sanguine electrical thill

Of your sweet summer's kiss

Upon such unfathomable heights

I soared to the gates of heaven

Running breathlessly across Elysian fields

Once upon a shining bright melody

My heart has sang and recorded well

The beauty of your soul's sonnet

A tranquil lullaby that encapsulates

The eternal beauty and sheer majesty

That comes from simply peering

Into the blazing moment of perfection

The sheer majesty of yesterday

And the perpetual cynicism of love

Leads to recycled rememberance

The tragic scope of my existence

Is the immortal pain of knowing

That you will never be here

(with me)
