"Retarded Gravy"

"Retarded Gravy"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

“Retarded Gravy”

(Prophetic Fever Dreams)

The solace of quantum soliloquies

Liquefy against toxic transgressions

Inebriating senseless slices of Sung

A dilapidated series of twisted tales

That fall across the remote consciousness

Prescribing the antipathy of the soul

The proper façade of intelligence

Wears thin like a false manifesto

 The polite veneer of superiority

Worn like a mustard stain

Upon a bright black dress

Sheer visions of purple strand(s)

Facilitate the osmosis of chi

The divine creative force

The antithesis of never was

We must sip the bitter ambrosia

The nectar of the nearest loins

To reach the pinnacle of Nirvana

Only by biting the forbidden fruit

Will we allow veils of decadent lies

To finally reveal the hidden suppositions

The blood red swatch of cannibalism

Falls upon resilient despotic ears

The common disregard of the populace

The laureate fills his head

With thick immaculate concepts

That finally lead to a sickening…

THUD

The evolutionary prospectus

Leads to serene gas chambers

Or to lilies of stunted ghettos

Once a much feared adversary

The grim distortion of death

Is but a cheerful calypso singer

What strikes unadulterated fear

Like the jagged bolts of Jove?

Into my sycophantic soul?

The sheer absentia

And myopic melancholia

The one thing needed (desperately)

The key missing ingredient

…LOVE

Very intriguing piece. iT is intensly deep! It just shows how sometimes we as imperfect humans can put too much emphasis on intelligence and forget about the more important things in life....others. Very well written and quite fascinating. At first you had me with the title until I began to read it. Excellent read! Your knowledge of the English language/vocabulary is amazing. Was that your past time lol? Good job~
