Silhouette & Echoes

Silhouette & Echoes

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"Silhouette & Echoes"

There has never been a moment

Where you have(not) cascaded against

The walls of my castrated memory

What divine punishment could entail

The separation of my veritable flesh

The sole comfort of my autumn years

I gaze at the captured memories of you

Silent pieces of silicon

That bring about the salty remains

Of what we actually have become

Across the rocky plains & barren landscapes

You are but a needle lost in a leaden haystack

A lone star across the countless constellations

Your silhouette still beckons my spirit

As the cold cruel echoes of familial love

Tempt me to rise beyond the ethereal darkness

And again, a brilliant write. Kenny, where does all of this come from? To come up with lines like:"..As the cold cruel echoes of familial love Tempt me to rise beyond the ethereal darkness.."
Two thumbs up!!
