"intoxicating inspiration"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

“Intoxicating Inspiration”

Delegate to me your treasure

Thy gilded lily that floats

Upon the divine sacred waters

Bequeath to me the subtle eyes

And gentle gestures that bemoan

Am unspoken promise of euphoric grace

You beguile me with your love

Teasing me with what can not be

Yet felt upon the boundless echoes

Of my manic driven dreams

The evening cool winds

Sing to me a subtle lullaby

The whisper of the divine promise

Grafted upon sweet wings of grace

Generous proportions of divinity

Espouse thy delicate nature

A miraculous omen of love’s tenderness

Sip upon the veritable vintage

The boundless grace of love

Has sent my heart to the blue skies

Your illuminating spirit rejoices

As it floats upon heavenly climes

The stars and clouds seem closer

With the beauty that is your love

The way you compared the beauty of companionship and nature was very clever and beautiful. I loved your words in this piece. I especially liked the last lines when you compared the clouds being closer because of her love...that is deep. Excellent read!
