"the timid tapestry"

"the timid tapestry"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"the timid tapestry"

I see something opaque in your summer eyes
a dark distant chord that flows from the
echoing chambers of my heart

eloquence forbids the commonality
of my moral idignation and self righteous
 thunder

you quiet my soul and inspire
  my artistic ambivalence

  once upon a sumptous sonnet
  you wove a artful tapestry
that behooves me to do the same

  art itself decries the simplstic
  synchronicity of the woefully
  oblivious of generalities

 at once
  perception and its delicate
  sensibilities anchor us
  to the sweet mortality

and vivid sensuality that
we call love

Kenny, you never let me down. I know when I read one of your poems I am in for true literary delight. These lines: you quiet my soul and inspire
my artistic ambivalence
How glorious is that phrase! Well done my friend!!

This is absolutely superb! Your way of taking words and making the reader anticipate every line in your work is genius! The last stanza was absolutely beautiful. Excellent read!
