“The Solace Of One”
I taste the color of orange
Illuminating across my mind
Filling the precarious shadows
With wondrous varieties
Upon this sleepless pillow
I have plucked the sacred pearls
Of many (un)jaded virgins and nymphs
As I sip upon the sacred nectar
Of their heavenly juices…nourishment
I seek the ever cascading simplicity
Of the sunlight across my delighted face
As I walk the people peppered streets
I find my soles have left several inches
Off the ground beneath my jaunty steps
My heart soars like a butterfly
Freely kissing the bluest of skies
And held aloft by a power unseen
The beauty of my single disposition
Rewards me with riches beyond Midas
And a perspective shared with angels
My single reality is my secret solace
And the boundless treaty shared
With the whimsical simplicity
Of my scarlet imbued sensitivity
The joy of the splendid sparrow
Is that he can sing the song
The sweetest sonnet that symbolizes
The beauty of knowing one’s soul
