"missing muse"

"missing muse"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"missing muse"

(myopic melancholia)

my heart aches increasingly

for the sadistic, sanguine pleasure

of your indescribable words

the szzling, exquisite precision

that punctuated each syllable

activating each adjective

with subtle sublime desires

the variables of my life

measured in constant consonants

feed the longing in my literary heart

your poetic, lyrical dreams

so prophetically mirrored my own

the substance of my reality

requires the beauty of your presense

the tonal quality of a refined portrait

painted by the technque of poetry

the silent sonnet of soft words

fades into the ethereal darkness

without the exquisite beauty

that is reflected by your love

I love the use of alliteration here. It was enough to be interesting but not over the top. Also great emotion throughout. I enjoyed the read very much.

Very lovely and sensusal piece. I felt the absence of a friend that you painted so very well. You spoke of the times you two shared...beautifully. The last verse was definitely my favorite how you spoke of sonnets of soft words fading with the muse absence. Very excellent read Kenny. Keep exercising your wonderful gift!
