"winterscape"

"winterscape"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"Winterscape"

I stand on a mountain

sreaming your name over (and again)

wishing the avalanche of syllables

would wash away the verdant stain

from my pain induced heart

slipping into the promise of yesterday

my watership tears of antiquity

echo the symbiotic synthesis

of love and unequivocal hatred

you stay and I leave

you leave and  I stay

such a paltry sad semblance

of what love ought to be

once upon my jaded memory

my once proud disposition

has faltered without the passionate kisses

that you once inspired

the silently acidic snowflakes of fall

lead directly into the transparency of spring

where the decadent mourning of winterscape

has become the sad delusions

of the mad pauper who was once a king

I love the analogies...the beauty of nature. However, you used it to describe the pain and anguish of a bad relationship. I love the last stanza when you said the acidic snowflakes of fall lead into the transparency of spring where the decadent mourning of winterscape has become THE SAD DELUSIONS OF THE MAD PAUPER WHO WAS ONCE A KING. Sometimes love doesn't always go as planned. But just like the ugly weather can change into something beautiful...something we can enjoy, the same can happen with love. Excellent piece!
