"slices of me"

"slices of me"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"slices of me"

 (dedicated to J.D.O)

allow the wretched sands of time

to pour forth from my razor sliced veins

allow the pontification of your silent syllables

to strike razor shards across my imbecilic face

you cut me to the veritable quick

with your sinful disposition and senseless ways

allowing the golden chalice of  love's ambrosia

to be smashed against the echo induced walls

you planted a genuine seed of hatred

and watered it with my sequential tears

leaving me with the stale memory

of who you never truly were

as I gaze upon my swollen eyes

and contorted bruises in the cruel mirror

my soul hemmorages septic soliloquies

the cruel realization that your love

comes with the accompanying abuse

that is unequalled upon the rack

multiple images of who you are

dance across my shattered mind

and display the common misery

that is akin to my own spiritual deprivation
