"mistakes"

"mistakes"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

                     I’ve walked this weary road

Until I could no longer stand

When I fell upon my knees

God offered me his hand

As the world grew cold

And I sat there all alone

God opened up his arms

And welcomed me back home

Like a lost lonely lamb

That had sadly gone astray

The good and faithful Shepard

Has brought me home

His blessings are forever

And like the stars above

His light shines upon me

Sharing his precious, sacred love

My life was once filled

With such sorrow and regret

But Father God has given me

A joy I shall never forget

God gives us comfort

And protects us from the worst

All good things will be given

If you only put him first

When our lives are done

And we rise above this place

He welcomes our souls home

With a smile upon his face

I’ve found a friend in God

What a wondrous friend is he

His love rains down on us

From now until eternity

His love is everlasting

Let him touch your heart & mind

All blessings come from heaven

Only the mistakes were mine
