"homeless"

"homeless"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

“homeless”

Onward

My journey

Restless

Eyes

Seek familiar

Comforts

This stone

Pillow

And starless

Sky

Are all

I can

Call my

Own

From block

To

Block

Borough

2 borough

City

2 city

I follow

A silent

Piper

My soul

Aches

For long

Forgotten

Yesterdays

Where family

Friends &

Comforts

Were more

Than a

Feverish

Dream

And

A long

Dormant

Desire

Death

My once

Feared

Adversary

Is now

My

Solace

And

My lonely

Reward

This is so sad yet profound. I love the format that you chose for this piece. However, I don't think the picture compliment the poem very much. Your flow is amazing, I was able to breeze through the piece effortlessly. Excellent write!

ooooh that sent shivers up and down. I found the part about the man following the piper, or the silent music, to be chilling. A kind of deep profound destiny type thing-well i think- he follows the music in a world where, for him, there i none. Thats what I got out of it anyway. And how you describe death as a reward, and the past, that is forgotten, whom still the man aches for...powerful....
