beast

beast

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"beast"

what

man

denies

his primal

nature?

what solace

can he find

in the

sad veneer

of society?

what solitidue

can one

seek?

after he

has sold

his

IMMORTAL

(soul)?

what

price

could

balance

the

INCALCUABLE

cost?

the primal

FURY

and fathomless

POWER

of my

youth

have been

lost

in the

anals

of time

this once

PROUD

specimen

has been

shot

shackled

and shamed

the cage

(although golden)

is but

a constant

reminder

that

the most

dangerous

and CALCULATING

foe

has always

been

my

fellow

MAN
