cusp

cusp

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"cusp"

before

I fall

into

the great

precipice

my heart

eagerly

seeks

its long

forbidden

comforts

what lips

can succor

my grievous

heart?

what eyes

can offer

succint

sage

wisdom?

in a

time

where

LOVE

is a

microwavable

commodity

who dares

to tarry

along its

dusty

roads?

acrid tears

are

love's reward

the ill

blown wind

and

decadent

clouds

are but a

prologue

to the

mirthless

laughter

we call

...life
