crystal teardrops...

crystal teardrops...

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"crystal teardrops"

I miss u long before u even left

the shadowy image of your long goodbye haunts me

the intrusive presence of your memory lingers

like the faded scent of your perfume

alone I must carry these sacred memories

scattered like dust in the wind

akin to holding smoke in one's hands

silicon silence lies next to me

your imprint still embedded on an empty pillow

beneath the shattered lie is a revealed truth (an epiphany)

the sorrow of one's leaving is NEVER enough to make one stay

crystal tear drops worthless (to you)

wash away the toxic venom and inenviable

pain from my broken heart

This is absolutely beautiful! I could feel your pain. Your melancholy mood was contagious in this piece. In other words, it was extremely moving and emotional. I LOVED IT. You are truly a gifted writer! Keep exercising your gift Kenny!
