"Lonely Teardrops"

"Lonely Teardrops"

A Poem by Kenny L. Mitchell

"TEARS IN MY EYES"

I could never hurt you

Or try to break your heart

The opposite of heaven

Is whenever we're apart

A hundred thousand angels

In heaven sing your name

In my lonely heart

I always do the same

You came into my life

Like a gentle summer breeze

You are the inspiration

That sets my soul at ease

If your heart is hurting

If you drown in despair

Please just call my name

In a moment I'll be there

We often take for granted

What we have every day

But the hardest lesson

Is when it goes away

It is the cruelest lesson

That I have ever learned

The loneliness I'm feeling

Is the loneliness I earned

I'm praying for the day

I can see your face again

When the person I lost

Is once again my friend

I'll always love you

Until the day I die

 Only you ease my pain

Or the tears in my eyes

This is heartbreaking! The poem carries the reader forward as the stream carries the lonely boat to the sea.

Excellent work!
