Within

Everything depends on how you react to what's in front of you.

Some days are long,
And some days are short.
Some days you feel as if the world
Is crashing down around you,
And most days you just need some support.

On those gloomy days you feel like
It may get better with the right song.
Sometimes that might be true,
But looking at the situation present
It all depends on you.

But just because the world feels wrong
Does not mean it is ending.
The power to change is within,
But the choices you make from the place you stand
Determine the steps for your mending.

One day soon your head will be high.
Life won't be perfect but
They will no longer see you cry.
And as time passes you'll come to know
That someday soon you'll be the one to glow.

I actually normally don't write poetry, but I gave it a shot. I'd love to hear thoughts on it and any constructive criticism would be appreciated!

Its an apt message and you put it into good rhythm and rhyme. Flow is a little shaky in some lines, particularly the fourth line in the second stanza. But overall, a good piece!

Thank you so much! I actually wrote this with myself in mind; life has just really been beating me down lately. But, I know I have to deal with everything in a calm and logical way and I know if I do that everything will hopefully be okay down the road. That's what I hope others get out of this poem as well.
