Summer Nights

Summer Nights

A Poem by Kelly
"

The power of dreams and boredom

"

In my T-shirt

In my jeans

Bored in bed

Tap my window

Call my name

Let’s get out

Out this town

Drive your car

On the freeway

Let’s get out

Out of state

Let’s get away

Get away

Driving in the night

Feel the air

Cool summer air

Feel the breeze

Fireflies

Light the night

Let’s park

Over there

Dance in the night

Feel the wind

Dance with us

We are free

We are free.

Open eyes

Blurry sight

In my room

In a sweat

Still in bed

I drifted off

Like many nights

Alone again
