Alhambra

Alhambra

A Poem by kmf

Alhambra

a stranger in the seraglio

behind pierced screens

of story-spells carved

in pale white marble

enclosing the baths

you watch me

through fragrant steam

breathless, but not replete

a brand new odalisque, I

beckon the palace eunichs

to trace your words

in henna

upon my palms and feet

sated

with play

with canto et respondu

Author's Note

kmf
this is actually 3rd in series: my "Languid (mornin', Sweeting)" followed by another writer's response, then this as mine. Am hoping the two I can share (being mine) stand alone well. Comments, criticism, responses all welcomed.
