The Ballad of Chocolate Roy

A story of a little boy conquering a vast ocean of who the heck knows what

There was once
a little boy.
And his name,
was Chocolate Roy!
He sailed the Seven Seas
with his black and yellow socks
pulled right up to his knees!

Yo ho, yo ho,
Yo ho, Chocolate Roy-o!

Roy got his start as a powder monkey,
aboard a frigate called the Generous Death.
He was small,
He was quick!
He was slick!
In his mouth he always
had a stick of chocolate.

How'd he get it?
Where'd he stash it?
I don't know, but
He ain't tellin'!
Cased closed.

Yo ho, yo ho!
Yo ho! Chocolate Roy-o!
Always on the go-yo,
Sail on and away-o!

One fated morning,
a tempest bubbled through
and swallowed up quick
Roy's whole damn crew!

Strapped to the sailpost
all alone with the sky.
Erupting from his core:
"Oh, Why! Oh! Why-o!"

Yo ho, yo ho,
Yo ho, Chocolate Roy-o.
All alone, yo, sail away!
All alone, poor boy-o.

No time to wallow,
he set the sails loose.
Though he was afraid,
he had nothing left to lose.

Barely scraping the age of ten,
He had lived a fuller life than most men!

On the horizon, he saw the rising sun.
The only thoughts in his mind were:
"run, Run, RUN!"

Yo ho, yo ho,
Yo ho, Chocolate Roy-o!
Run away, Run away-o,
sail away toward the sun, yo!

So he taught himself
how to read the stars.
And he led his ship
By the light of Mars!

Travelling very far.
Never stopping....

Yo ho, yo ho,
Yo ho, Chocolate Roy-o!
Where'd you go, yo ho?
Sailed away, sailed away, yo ho!

Yo ho! Yo ho!
Yo ho!
