If You Had

If You Had

A Poem by kmartell

If you had the ability to poke out

Up into the sky of water dreaming flowers

That deciphers denial

Makes of ordinary potentials houses of eternity

If you had this knowledge

Striking the sides of light itself

Would you be satisfied with living,

Even if it meant

Drawing circles less perfect than

angels

The moment an angel cries?

That my friend is a very good question. On a different matter, I have always imagined that if the savior of man came to earth that he would not be believed. I think that shows the hunger society has to posses more. Sometimes I think that the heart of man can be a black whole, swallowing all things and a bright sun which illuminates all things.

This piece reminds me very much of something from Rumi. I really like the final five lines. They are powerful and extremely profound. They make us question the very nature of living. That is a special thing to be able to do as a writers. You have struck a nerve and found the possibility of living.
