unknown moth retreats to brown shaded lamp

unknown moth retreats to brown shaded lamp

A Poem by kmartell

i am

hands folded,  my wings behind me, i am
an old 60 yr old man who
wishes he could be a ladyboy

my hands are too big however and my grandchildren wouldn't understand having two grandmothers

i wink with antenna-like eyebrows white, soft, hair sprouts from both ears

i must be effectively satisfied looking like a robert frost spook version of myself
a moth with nowhere to go

a man who family friends fellow workers and townsfolk nod at, the brown air, the shadows, the lamp turned out with a woman from the past sitting idle watching as i turn the page to another  book.

this is good stuff.

it's alien, looking from the square pov,
but it's familiar, too.

don't we all wish we were something else at times?
looking at the rut ahead/behind....the "same old same old"

somedays, I wanna be a ladybug on a windchime.
just to see how my reflection changes when the wind blows.
:)

anyway, I like it.
