breathe follow breathe (st albans mobil gas station)A Poem by kmartellmy poem may end up as being on sentence fragment on a pagereading people’s voice, walk, coming through the glass door chairs lined beside tables guarding real flies circle upward the ceiling is less important the click of a hand opening computer bag click… still the click is a hand, like a single sound defines but no one wants the value of silence. all things are followed by a wake of realization… time is important time is letting her laughter fly toward another we are making noise to cover what we are searching for… an employee smokes a cigarette outside the window wears maroon a flying horse over one pocket , the cigarette takes too long, cuts feeling, and she pushes eyebrows together smoke in her face she is waiting for time… a small child following his father, his silouette is a shade of a child following his father we cannot see ourselves the reflection is clear, my face, the sun constant hard edge of shadow passing understanding the love is holding molecules together without knowledge the mind wants to talk again looking out of stillness the remembering of green and water, the remembering shouts quietly into the air. © 2011 kmartell |
