illness follows me around

illness follows me around

A Poem by kmartell

it wont let up

i notice my hands are looking older)

it is illness and i remember what i thought  being was, and then just so...

find that being is still

guiding me somehow,

is that God?

I noticed the other day that I have dropped the hand lotioning from my daily routine. It is no longer necessary for me to predicate every public appearance with a makeup session.

This, not because I feel I'm getting old and those things don't matter anymore. More that I am getting old and I am not defined anymore by how much younger I can make myself look.

Acceptance. Yes, it is God. I think.

Really cool food for thought. Made me think about my own oldness and how I really feel about it.

The details about the hands looking older is a pretty striking one for me. Also, I like the idea of that force guiding me. One of my favorite songs says something along the lines of There is a force out there and it won't lead me astray. You show us that force, be it God or some other benevolent energy in the universe. That is a special gift indeed; thank you for sharing this.
