This is a poem about a girl who's trapped by expectations.
She's trapped, Stuck in a place of life and death, Unsure which she'd rather do, Unsure who she'd rather be. Forced into the role of perfect student, Perfect child, perfect girl. She's confused, Wondering why everything hurts, Why she's so angry. Things she cared about hurt her, More than she's realized. She wants to grow up, To be free. To fly away to anywhere else. She wants to feel, To love, To forget. But memories haunt her, Biting at her with their dagger-like teeth. There's no escape. She needs to run.
Wow this is such a touching writing. I could see a part of myself inside the girls body it was written about. This poem is very relatable, and has a strong structure throughout it. I think we can all be this girl described at times, lost in the jumble of life, not sure which direction to go, and which path to chose. We just have to trust are intuition at times, and hope that which ever way we decide it will bring us happiness! Beautifully written.
I myself, have written similar writing to these. If you want to check them out, I would greatly appreciate it!
