I Don't Mind

I Don't Mind

A Poem by Kerri Maniscalco

Drip drop drip

The rain hits the roof

The winds pick up

And I don’t mind

Blow wind blow

The wind smacks the walls

As the storm comes our way

And I don’t mind

The world has turned grey

As people hold their breath

Waiting for the storm to go away

And I don’t mind

The women cry and the men groan

Waiting for the sun to shine

Waiting for the storm to pass us by

And I don’t mind

Looking for the end

A break in the clouds

Something to assure

It won’t rain no more

And I don’t mind

This is wonderful... excepting what is happening knowing that eventually things will be better... a wonderfully metaphoric piece.

This is a wonderful melancholic way of looking at the weather and how it affects us all, the most incredible thing about mother nature including the ellements is how powerless we all are to it's influence and change, we have no control awaiting to see out the storm which influences how we feel and reflecting on it's power
