Broken Pictures

Broken Pictures

A Poem by Kerri Maniscalco

Leafing through the pictures

Shattered memories of good times gone past

Broken kisses of all that couldn’t last.

Stopping to take a good look

At times and memories

That could have been written in a book.

When did it all go sour

I never thought, no I never thought

Our love could pass in that hour.

Stopping to take a moments breath

Releasing emotions like

Anger, jealousy and wrath

How could you do this to me?

How could you break my heart

And go on living free?

Tearing the pictures out of this page

Trying, hoping desperately

To rid myself of this boiling rage.

This is amazing. End of story.

Very emotional.. I can sense the confusion, the anger, the comtemplative mindset. This was set up well, and I was able to connect with the poem, as many other people probably can too, which makes it more appealing.

l love the use of italics to express a deeper inner thought... ok.. and its looks kinda cool too.. :) Excellent work.. I felt every word, we wish people that hurt us stayed hurt as well... but thats not the case...
