Thank You DriverA Poem by Krista GallantThey pull away together, his hand upon her helm Embarking the never-ending thoroughfare realm The roar of her diesel engine, prepared for the run Venturing through all weather, even blistering sun
The weariness in his eyes as his companion leads Continuously hammering down at governed speeds He wields his fine beauty as if they were only one Trying to keep all safe until the day’s hours are done
Constantly required to procure and deliver the haul Being at the mercy of Mother Nature’s thrall And how others need to be aware of their environs Devastation could be had from negligent actions
Stay out of harm's way and until we meet again You’ll remain in my thoughts and prayers my friend For if your stay home is only for a short sojourn May the roads remain safe for your next return © 2014 Krista Gallant |
