Take The Road Less Travelled

Take The Road Less Travelled

A Poem by Krista Gallant

Mindful, ancient accrued wisdom one’s life hath

Moments adrift from birth to pending at hand

Wondering lost like a pebble on a mountain path

Facing crashing waves of torment along the coastland

Swept inland, longing for desired love and meaning

Overgrown mar much easily ignored than confronted

Appear are two diverged roads, what lies await unveiling

Assumed are one of sunlit heights and the other blighted

Even though they both arrive at a final destination

Most take the easy road of green grass and easy passage

Commit to the less travelled with courage and caution

And you will find the delicate flowers through the foliage

Only by gambling against all odds will happiness prevail

A beauty awaits to be swept away by the tempest of love

Stung by the bee of romance long have you bewailed

Compare not all to the pain earned by one disguised dove

The easy path, without  companionship but freedom

Strikes a possible soul mate from scent and sight

Lonely are the winter nights with a heart benumbed

Warm are those who struggle free from fear`s frostbite

Sometimes choosing the path that not many walk makes you realize what you and the rest of the world have been missing out on. Great poem, so well written.
