Pas de deux

Pas de deux

A Poem by Krista Gallant

Take me in your sweat embrace

For this is all I ask

No need of diamonds and for furs

Your desire is what I lack

Devour my love, I beg of you

The beat of your heart be mine

Slay my beast of lonely misery

Your prize, my devotion for all time

Hence forth, a life of solitude

If not for a leap of faith

Forever my loyalty with gratitude

Even upon facing death’s wraith

No longer a side or a second choice

For this I challenge you

To always have an ear to my voice

While we sway to life’s pas de deux
