Soar

Soar

A Poem by Krista Gallant

A fresh dawn now tiptoes in

Illuminating shadows within

Deprived wishes, pining needs

Are expressions seeking seeds

Awake thy enslaved psyche

Shyly lurking in the dark

Rattle beliefs, sacred morals

Strive to take life apart

Flame creativity with furious bursts

Fears will flake to scattered dust

Igniting hallowed curiosity’s thirst

By eradicating malignant pettiness

Dissolve all illusions when faced

Devote oneself to a tender state

Evolve with purpose not shame

Unabashedly humane does reign

Reconcile the past, rise to the future

Consciously live with astute intensity

Release blame with great humility

Grapple, repent, and soar free
