No One Else ComparesA Poem by Krista GallantSearching among each soul, around every corner You have escaped me, left bare, confused, darker Persistently searching for your lips, passion and touch Seeing you everywhere but you are nowhere as such
My spirit has collapsed, throbbing pain so extreme Desire for being, forever gone, flowing downstream Your avoidance slashing at my unstable inner being My tortured essence continuously struggling, haunting
All I want is to taste every inch of your delectable skin To be cradled in your strong arms, to feel safe within To revel in your scent, sensing your breath upon my cheek To lie with you in the aftermath, our bodies could bespeak
Shedding countless tears you will by no means witness Gone with no explanation as I remain with such emptiness In relation to the consequences of your actions I ache Your enjoyment, freedom and selfish needs I forsake
Desire, love, need, want and reach for me, I beg of you No one else in this world can make me feel like you do Confess the truth and praise how you truly felt for me Don’t escape from reality just to fulfill some greedy need
Your anger was frigidly cold and callously condescending Snuffing my flame to the point I heard my heart breaking I am emotionally absent, raw and feel like I was used Life is now obscured and primordial happiness suffused
You lied, broke promises, and most of all destroyed me But despite all of that, I yearn for you - not a carbon copy I will continue my journey in exploration of someone new Even if my thoughts are consumed by memories of you © 2013 Krista Gallant |
