The Halo

A portion of my testimony

I have a little story to tell; 

I hope when you hear it you're blessed.
I turned 13 years old one month of May 

when I went to the Lord with a test.
It's my birthday Dear Lord and I'm 13 years old 

but I'm tired of being a kid.  
There's a lot of things I want to know in this world 

because there's so much from me that's hidden.
If I'm good all the time like you want me to be, 

I think I'll miss out on so much.
It seems like everyone's having such a good time 

doing things I'm not supposed to touch.
So here's the deal Lord, and I hope you won't mind, 

But my halo's going up in the closet.

I won't feel I've lived to the fullest extent 

until hook, line and sinker I've bought it."
Well, that's just what I did from that moment on 

and Boy! did I make new friends!
Everyone knew me and I finally fit in; 

For the next twenty years I tried whatever Satan would send.
Well, two children later and 2 divorces 

I cried to Jesus to conquer the evil forces.
When I was back safe and sound in His arms 

He began to show me what all I had harmed.
Because of the last twenty years of sin 

He showed me the influence I had been.
So many people I met through my life 

who needed direction or just good advice
followed my lead right into the mud 

where some may still be if I looked hard enough.
So many lives I could have led to the Lord; 

So many times I could have shared His word;
Some of the lost were my sisters and brothers 

who looked up to me when there was no other.
How foolish I was to think I needed that life; 

so full of wickedness, worry and strife.
How foolish to think I'd really miss out 

when serving Jesus IS what life's all about.
Please forgive me Lord, and thanks for forgiving; 

and please lead those I lost to the land of the living.
